  Kenny Irwin Jr 1969-2000 Kenny Irwin was rising bright star with lots of talent, and getting good finishes. Irwin as USAC Midget Crown champion, and NASCAR truck series race winner, died at the same track and same turn as busch series driver Adam Petty did. We never even got to these 2 really shine.

  Lee Petty 1914-2000 Lee Petty the very first Petty in auto racing died at 86 just 3 days after his great-grandson entered his first Winston-Cup series event, where he would hvae finished 25th, if the motor had helf on. Lee the founding father of Petty Enterprises Racing, won 54races, 3 championship, and had an average finish of 7.6, and won 13% of the races he entered, he led in 93 races, and entered 427, and has over 4,000 laps led. The man was the King untill so Richard took that away when he won his fourth chapionship.

  Dale Earnhardt 1951-2001 Dale Eanrhardt NASCAR Chamion, and only one to tie and contend to break Richard Petty's record of 7, died in the 2001 Daytona 500 on the finial turn on the finial laps. Michael Waltrip the race winner had a bitter sweet win, for he did not know what had happened untill after his celebration had started. Dale is missed by many fans, but its time to move on, if NASCAR fans stick together they can get through it.
